The Pivot Cycles Shuttle SL 29 World Cup XTR is designed as a fantastic trail bike first and an E-Bike second.

Incredibly light, starting at under 17kg for a full build, easy to handle and capable of absorbing shocks with aplomb, it pairs Pivot Cycles' own Hollow Core Carbon frame with super-quiet ride-assist from a FAZUA Ride 60 Drive System, integrated into the downtube.

This provides 60Nm of torque and 450W of maximum power, with the help of a 430W/hr battery, and offers Boost mode along with three ride levels that let you cycle further and faster, with a natural ride feel. The drive unit is placed low and close to the bike's centre of gravity to give you better handling and add power to your ride, while the dw-link^TM suspension does the same for your pedal stroke and smooths out the ride feel, even on rough and root-covered ground.

The 132mm of rear travel offered by the Kashima coated suspension, with dual piston damper and pedal-friendly shock absorption, is paired with 140mm of front travel, courtesy of a Fox Factory 34 FIT4 fork primed to handle the weight of an E-Bike. Also Kashima coated, the latter delivers the stiffness, strength, support and tunability that all trail and cross country cyclists look for.

Meanwhile, the quality carbon 29” Reynolds Blacklabel 309/289 XC wheelset, with strong, low friction Maxxis Recon tyres, is featherlight and will help you to corner efficiently, climb with ease, and enjoy a fast and poppy ride.

The Shimano XTR M9100 shifter works seamlessly with the matching cassette and Shimano XTR rear derailleur to help ensure you achieve maximum power with minimum effort as the trail surface and angle changes.

Finally, the incredibly lightweight alloy and carbon LEV-Ci dropper seatpost will help you to position your weight for optimum confidence at high speeds, while the Phoenix WTB World Cup Volt saddle, with its carbon rails, will disperse the trail chatter before it gets to you to ensure all-day comfort. When it's time to check your speed, you can count on the sensitive Shimano XTR M9120 4-piston disc brakes to act fast and keep you in full control.

How far one charge will take you will vary with the mode you use, your weight and the terrain you choose to cycle over, but you can expect to ride for three to four hours with 1,000m of climbing, which will let you bag most bucket list routes. Once home, you can recharge the battery in situ and be back on the road within three and a half hours at the most.
