Pivot Cycles Mach 6 Ride SLX/XT - Coil
The Pivot Cycles Mach 6 27.5 Ride SLX/XT – Coil is ideally suited for days spent playing at the bike park or competing in high-octane enduro races on technical trails.
It's designed to offer speed and stability on rough ground, as well as supreme comfort, thanks to an impressive 160mm of front travel and 158mm of rear travel offered by its suspension, not to mention Fox Live Valve options.
The frame is built with aggressive geometry to up your pace, which is tailored as standard through Pivot's Hollow Core moulding technology to offer the perfect ride to cyclists of all sizes. It may also be adjusted through the flip chip, which allows you to lower the BB setting on steep, technical terrain or raise it, to steepen the head angle for a “reverse mullet” setup or achieve better handling, while climbing or navigating root-covered ground and tight terrain.
The robust frame is capable of coping with shocks and impacts with aplomb, thanks to its construction from high grade carbon fibre and its Super Boost Plus 157 rear spacing, which leads to improved tyre and mud clearance, better frame stiffness and a durable rear wheel.
This drives a performance enhancement for the 27.5″ wheelset, which was chosen to allow this bike to build up speed more quickly, climb with better efficiency, and make quicker adjustments than it could with 29″ wheels. At the same time as offering a fun, pacey ride, 27.5″ wheels are extremely stable and capable of rolling over rough ground smoothly.
Meanwhile, the dw-linkTM suspension, inspired by Pivot's hardy Phoenix DH bike, helps to smooth over bumps for a comfortable ride. The impressive travel offered by the combination of the plush Marzocchi Bomber CR shock, with its outstanding rebound and low speed compression, and the smooth, stiff, easily adjustable Marzochhi Bomber Z1 GRIP fork will keep you from bottoming out and damaging your bike, while offering a smooth ride feel over uneven trails.
This outstanding chatter and impact management is enhanced by the Fox Live Valve electronically controlled suspension system. This can be turned on when required and controlled through the Live Valve Bike App. It will monitor the ground you're riding over and automatically adjust the suspension to suit, guaranteeing an ultra-smooth ride even when you're pushing your limits.
As the terrain changes, the light, responsive Shimano SLX M7100 cassette and shifter will work harmoniously with the Shimano XT SGS rear derailleur to even out the levels of effort required to maintain your speed. And, if you need to stop in a hurry, the Shimano SLX M7120 4-piston brakes offer reliable, consistent action that frees you up to push your limits.
